Why most realtionships don't turn into a marriage

Before we answer our question, let's understand why marriage exists in the first place? Why people need marriages or a partner in their lives? When you were a child, your parents took care of you, they had your back, the only thing you cared about was playing. You grow a bit and got friends and school to support you. In college you made even better friends, more like brothers, at least I did. A common thing in all these stages of life, a support system, be it your friends or family. But, once you join the workforce, the support system is gone. You are most likely away from your family and friends, and this is where marriage or a need for a partner comes in. There are only a few kinds of people who can survive without a partner in their lives if they wish for it. For instance, monks have trained their body and mind to be independent of any emotional or physical need from another person, great teachers like APJ Abdul Kalam have their research and students to fill the need of a partne...

What a good college gives us

In my blog  Real cost of getting into a good college , I discussed how people like me missed out on our love stories because of focusing more on studying rather than looking to have a good time. This time I'll discuss what I learned and gained because of my studies. Most of my friends during school time used to look up to me as a person who was incapable of having fun, it was somewhat true. JEE preparation didn't allow me to hang out a lot. Discussing cartoons, solving HC Verma, and few bike rides pretty much summed up my school life. The only good thing for me back then was tuition and nothing else.  Most of my school friends ended up studying in private colleges of Delhi-NCR. These were the people who used to look down on me as a person who is a bore but things changed quickly. Their college was just like a school with a bigger campus and a lot more chicks. On the other hand, I moved to a new state to explore life and live on my own. Their college was so boring that mos...

Complicated life lessons

'Entire life is a misconception and all of us should thrive to remove as many as possible' ~ Unkown Career:  The most important thing for almost every one of us, right? Yes, it is important but there is a thin line between a career in life and career as life. You go and ask people, who are they? Often they reply something like Alex, Manager at XYZ corporation. Some people have fully imbibed their office personality into their personal lives. Everyone during college time was fighting to get the highest salary possible. All those who ended with a hefty package, still yearn for more. It's a vicious circle and almost none could escape it. Let me demonstrate what I meant to say by an example, you earn 50k and your expenditure is 30k, rest goes into saving. After a raise, your salary reaches 70k and your expenditure becomes 45k, again, rest goes into savings. Instead of enjoyment brought by extra money people savors the idea of having more money in their account. You could...

The real cost of getting into a good college

This blog is specifically for all those people who missed out on their love stories of school days to get into IITs or any other premier institute. The story starts from the early days of our childhood, just like every other kid, we were also engaged in all kind of fun and mischievous activities. Punishment for the unrest created by us used to be sitting in a girls group or vice versa. We absolutely hated the idea of sitting with girls and I still don't know, why that was the case? We were so little and naive but still, the company of the same-gender is something all of us desired. We grow a little bit and adolescence hits us, all the hormones are forcing us to notice all the subtle changes in the physiology of our batchmates, from the increased breast size to newly growing facial hairs. I don't know about girls but for boys tearing the pages of school magazines with a sexy girl in it was fairly common before the abundant arrival of porn. Phones were scarce back then, the int...

The needed proximity

Image
Almost every crime that happens in this country due to the gender difference is a direct result of people not being exposed to the proximity of the other gender. Making strict laws can definitely bring down such cases, but, until and unless the mindsets of people are not changed this problem will never completely vanish from our society. Most of us never understood the opposite gender proximity thus often we end up reacting foolishly or aggressively with other gender. Both genders need to learn and understand the concept of proximity in order to curb these crimes. There are several downsides of people not being exposed to each other's comfort limits, priorities, and behavior. I've witnessed highly educated men aggressively behaving with women on the other hand decent boys unable to even speak their names in front of a girl. Both the spectrum of this societal structure is not suitable for the growth of our society. Of course, aggression tends to bring more imbalance but we c...

The Real Nature of Yoga, It's not just a physical exercise

Image
Most of the people around the globe have little to no knowledge of yoga. 'Yoga' means union with the cosmos and it is so much more than twisting your limbs in seemingly different nonsensical postures. Whenever you mention yoga to someone, people in India will generally conjure up the image of Baba Ramdev as its brand ambassador. Just for the fact, Baba Ramdev named his company Patanjali because saint Patanjali wrote the 'Yoga sutras'. What Baba Ramdev teaches is called Raj yoga that is designed to cover the physical aspect of yoga. The biggest disappointment regarding yoga is people reducing it to the level of another physical exercise, the notion of yoga being a practice to keep you fit and healthy is an incomplete and underestimated picture. There are several forms of yoga and different dimensions to it. Explaining it in a blog is almost impossible and I'm not a master myself to teach you the real technique but I can give you a broad idea of yoga and its ...

The things where we failed as Indians-II

Continuing the part-I, there are many other things apart from education, parenting, and liberalism that threatens the very fabric of our society. A lot has been said about all these topics, but still, I felt the need to put all these totally different problems under one umbrella. Finances: We go to school for some 18-20 years, and finally after the end of our academics, all we do is run after the money. The irony is that we train ourselves for 20 years or so to do something else entirely and that's why most of us are inept to handle our finances. When a person doesn't know how money works, all he/she can do is to work for someone else. Remember, the employer will always provide you with the least amount that will keep you away from resigning. Financial acuteness comes only with practice like any other skill. When Warren Buffett was a teen, he used to sit with investors to know the working of the markets and we all know where he is today. Not everyone will become Warren Bu...
