Different personality within me
I have dedicated considerable time in exploring the nuances of various personality types. Although intricate, a deeper comprehension of this subject enables us to understand others and, crucially, ourselves more effectively. Grasping the intricacies of personalities provides insight into our behavioral patterns, serving as a valuable instrument for self-reflection. It illuminates areas requiring refinement and those warranting preservation. Personalities play a pivotal role in our interactions, magnetism, accomplishments, and myriad other aspects of our lives. While some individuals naturally possess charm, others develop it through relentless exposure to diverse situations. However, many unknowingly mold their personalities based on their environments, oblivious to the impact. They seldom ponder the ideas they encounter and their profound influence on their psyche. Each environment and individual possess unique characteristics, and prolonged exposure leads to unconscious assimilation of these traits. Discerning which aspects to embrace and which to discard is no easy task. A deeper understanding of personality facilitates the discernment of beneficial and detrimental ideas, but distinguishing between them remains a formidable challenge as the repercussions often manifest over extended periods. Our personalities shape our identities, relationships, aspirations, and joy, thus necessitating diligence and discernment in selecting the influences we absorb from our surroundings.
Let's delve into a recent revelation about the multifaceted nature of my personality. Recognizing the distinctiveness and triggers of my sub-personalities was a revelation. Analyzing one’s personality is a challenging endeavor. My struggle to form friendships post-college, contrasted with my college experience, now begins to make sense. Now, let’s explore my four sub-personalities and their influence on my behavior.
Before proceeding, it's important to note that usually, a sub-personality is a blend of two or three distinct types. Analyzing them collectively is highly challenging, so we’ll examine them individually.
Meet the Unrelenting Trailblazer. This is the persona that took the reins when I set foot in Europe. It’s relentless, fiercely intelligent, and stands its ground against any intellectual onslaught. In this realm, surrender is not an option; it thrives in confrontation and asserts dominance over challenges. It revels in its perceived superiority, fuelled by discipline, focus, and a relentless work ethic. It’s a harbinger of transformative impact and a catalyst for monumental accomplishments, both mental and physical. It’s fearless—a warrior ready to battle any day, any time, despite a disdain for conflict. It refuses to be subjugated, forgoing humility and embracing a sense of superiority.
This assertive attitude is not unfounded; it’s a boastful dynamo that has propelled me to greater heights than my peers, with a learning and adaptability curve that’s unmatched. However, it’s not without its drawbacks; its intimidating aura repels newcomers, who often find its confrontational nature unsettling, engaging only in substantial conversations. While many grow to respect its profound knowledge, personal relations often remain strained. In professional realms, it excels where respect and efficiency are paramount, avoiding futile chatter and meticulously managing time and resources. It’s not the congenial type; it’s a professional, disciplined, and industrious entity, embodying a relentless pursuit of ambitions, dreams, discipline, and a substantial ego.
It’s this persona that catapults me to success and material wealth, soaring above the rest, aiming to eventually understand the significance of shedding the ego. It’s about the pursuit of loftier goals and the eventual realization of the importance of humility. Despite its intimidating façade, I’m acutely aware of the need to keep the ego in check, and I’m actively working on tempering this formidable entity.
Introducing the Forever Friend. This side of me is super relaxed, just looking to have a good time. Always up for a laugh and doesn’t let negative comments bring him down. It's the side that’s always ready to lend a helping hand to friends, not caring about looking silly and even making fun of himself.
This one’s the storyteller, turning everything into an entertaining tale. He’s all about making and keeping friends and really wants to help out people around him. He sees himself as just another guy, loving a good gossip session and not afraid to waste time just hanging out. He’s the most open, not afraid to show he’s not perfect, and accepting of everyone else’s quirks.
Human connections mean everything to this part of me. He's the one checking in on friends to see if they’re feeling okay. If people will remember anything about me after I'm dead, it’s probably this side, the one that values friendships above all. I’m not joking, this part misses friends so much that they even show up in dreams if it’s been a while since we talked.
This joyful, caring side is always ready to help a friend in need. But, unfortunately, this side hasn’t really come out much since moving to Europe, maybe because people here value different things. He doesn’t quite get the European way of joking and bonding but does his best to keep the friendships he has alive and well. This side represents the joy of being with friends and the importance of keeping those relationships strong, no matter where life takes him.
Next up, meet the Dreamer Artist. This persona is entirely enveloped in his own universe. Some days, he wakes up to the strumming of his guitar at the break of dawn. This version of me is the explorer, with eyes ever-searching for the beauty painted in art, cinema, and most importantly, music. It’s a journey through various musical genres, delving into intellectual exploration and myriad challenges, all seeking peace, happiness, and fulfillment—not to prove a point to anyone, not even to himself.
This artist has strummed his tunes in public places, earning glances that mistook him for homeless, but the opinions never bothered him. He remains undisturbed by the whirlwind of the world around him, a genuine creator, chasing novel ideas and dreams. He's the architect of songs, poetry, and blogs, reveling in the journey of creation more than the destination. This one has a minimal ego, often leaving his creations anonymous, aiming to spread joy and love through the universal language of music without forming attachments.
Hours blend into one another as he loses himself in the strings of his guitar. This one is also a hopeless romantic, penning songs for his beloved and getting lost in romantic films. A sensitive soul, he’s moved by the essence of good art and is constantly on the lookout for new expressions of music, art, or cinema. He’s content in his bubble, not wishing to disturb or be disturbed by the world around him.
If financial constraints were non-existent, this path of artistic pursuit and tranquil exploration would have been my chosen journey in life, harmoniously strumming through the symphony of existence.
Lastly, meet the Spiritual Seeker, a persona often misunderstood, a reflection of my soul unfathomable to many. This one is resilient, ardently striving for the ultimate aim of life—moksha. This embodiment of serenity is free from negativity, never succumbing to agitation, having seen the glimpse of the zenith of existence and experienced realms beyond verbal articulation—moments termed as spiritual experiences.
He often finds himself immersed in contemplation about God and the enigmatic universe. He remains detached from material comforts, desires, family, and friends. This path is arduous, with the seeker reading spiritual texts and exploring philosophies, yoga, and other spiritual practices in hopes of finding answers to the enigma of existence. He yearns to renounce the world and embrace monastic life, but the uncertainties on this path and the diverse facets of my personality inhibit this transition.
The Spiritual Seeker doesn't bother about materialistic pursuits or relationships. His soul yearns for a permanent solution to human suffering and a state of eternal bliss, acknowledging that happiness is transient and elusive. He embraces beliefs that transcend rational comprehension and has learned to accept the mysteries of the universe without understanding them.
He realizes the limitations of his human mind to comprehend the complexities of the cosmos and hopes for divine grace to unveil the ultimate truth. His quest is not for knowledge but for the experience of true freedom. If this enlightenment is attained in this lifetime, he will devote his existence to fulfilling divine tasks, departing the world in peace and contentment. The Dreamer Artist is the closest reflection to this seeker, both striving to be free from worldly fetters. He knows this path is impossible without divine grace, no matter what he does, so he never force himself to walk it; if it comes naturally, it will happen. I don't plan anything on this path and do whatever I feel like.
With this, we are at the end of this blog. Once again, as I mentioned earlier, mostly when I operate in the world, it's a combination of a few of these sub-personalities, and decoding them is close to impossible.
Hari Om Tat Sat.
